Vincent Charles Oles

Vincent Charles Oles Sr., 61, of Eau Claire, passed away on June 27, 2012 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1P.M. on Saturday July 7, 2012 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be held between 5P.M. and 8P.M. Friday July 6, 2012 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Twelve Corners Community Church of Benton Harbor. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1969. He married Linda Thompson March 11, 1972 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in St. Joseph. Vincent was employed with Pearson Construction for 37 years as an operator, and a member of the Operating Engineers 324 Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and family activities. Vincent is survived by his wife Linda, children Vincent and Katie (Hetz) Oles, Jr. of St. Joseph, Rebecca Oles (engaged to James Jones of Niles), siblings Virginia F. (Edward) Banish, Joseph E. (Garnette) Oles, both of Berrien Springs, and Ann L. (Drayton, Jr.) Fults, of Houston, Texas; Grandson Zachary Oles, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lorenz.
