Dolores Rickel

Dolores “Dee” Rickel, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Dolores was born May 26, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Martin & Lucille (Tremba) Migala. She graduated from St. Joseph High School. Dolores took a job with The Whirlpool Corp. where she met the love of her life William, they had three children and have been married for 56 years. Dolores had many talents including Hawaiian dancing where she danced with her best friend of 50 years Kamoa Ferris. Dolores loved crafting “Calico Lace n Flowers”, garage sales, camping in Ludington, the beach, up north deer hunting, but most of all she loved and adored her grandchildren dearly as they loved and adored “Nonie” Dee Dee. Dolores was survived by her husband William “Bill” Rickel of St. Joseph; daughter Kathy (Steve) Hammond of St. Joseph; sons James “Jim” (Patti) Rickel of AZ and Rober-T (Tashai) Rickel of WI; six grandchildren Bryan (Andrea) Hammond, Adam Hammond, Kyle Hammond, Zach Rickel, Alex Rickel and Lauren Starke; siblings Gil (Marian) Migala of Berrien Springs, Karen (Jerry) Gunning of OH, Diane (Joe) Petlick of St. Joseph and Bill Migala of St. Joseph; many nieces and nephews; Dolores was preceded in death by her parents.
