Vivian Jean Schroeder

Our sweet, beloved Vivian Jean Schroeder (Vivian Jean McFarland) left this Earth on July 25, 2012 to be with her Lord. Vivian Jean, VJ, was born on August 23, 1949 in Watervliet, MI. She departed this Earth never knowing a stranger. Her gifts of kindness, compassion and conversation made an impact on everyone she encountered. VJ’s love and compassion for people, especially for her family, inspired her hobbies and interest in genealogy and photography. She traveled incredible journeys searching and photographing family, ancestors and nature. VJ was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She fulfilled each of these roles with the greatest love. Most recently she devoted much of her time doting on her two great granddaughters. She is survived by her husband Michael of St. Joseph; her son Shane (Ann) Neel of Vicksburg, MI; five grandchildren-Danny (Sheilah) Hanners, Justin Neel, Jordy (Kasha) Hanners, JT Neel, Wyatt Neel; two great-granddaughters-Braelyn & Brynlee Neel; her mother Darlene Cain of South Haven; her siblings-Cynthia Lee of Lutz, FL, Stephanie (Jimmy) Lutz of Snellville, GA, Therese (Mark) Wesaw of Kalamazoo, Melanie (Kevin) Landry of South Haven, Gabrielle (Robert) Sefcik of Covert, MI, Joseph (Lisa) McFarland of Aurora, CO, Sean (Lisa) McFarland of South Haven; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Hanners in March 2006. At her request no funeral service will be held. There will be a celebration of life gathering at a later date. VJ will be laid to rest in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo.
