Orland E. Wolske

Orland E. Wolske, 75, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Monday, May 21, 2012 at his home. Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Orland was born March 23, 1937 in New Rockford, North Dakota to Otto & Mary (Kublick) Wolske. On November 30, 1963, he married the former Ilda Schroeder in Benton Harbor. Orland cherished the time spent on his farm in Benton Harbor, tending to his fruit trees, the land, and his beautiful flower gardens. He enjoyed going to garage sales & auctions looking for that unusual item or something that he could repair to working condition, for the challenge of doing so. He enjoyed antiques, not for the monetary value, but because of his appreciation for the technology that went into the design. Orland especially enjoyed attending the Michigan Flywheelers Tractor shows. Orland is survived by his wife and best friend – Ilda; his brother Arthur (Else) Wolske of Eau Claire; his sister-in-law & brother-in-law Helga Wolske & Jerry Ellis, both of Benton Harbor; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-Eric & Alvin Wolske, his sister Nita Ellis, his sister-in-law Hildegard Wolske, his niece Susan Jewell, and his special grandson Adam Tilly.
