Joseph “Joe” Grajauskis, 83, of Sodus, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Robert Duehlmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sodus, Sodus Township Fire Department or donor’s choice. Those wishing to share a memory of Joe online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Joe was born September 30, 1928 in Lemont, IL to Joseph & Bernice (Mockaitis) Grajauskis. He graduated from Morgan Park Academy in Chicago, IL, and then attended Benton Harbor Jr. College. He served his country in the United States Army from 1955 until 1957. On April 18, 1959, he married Marie Andres in Sodus, MI. Joe was a farmer for many years on the family farm. He was a board member of the Farmers Home Administration, Berrien County A.C.S. and Sodus Township Planning Commission. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Joe is survived by his wife Marie Grajauskis of Sodus; daughter Joanne ( Paul) Clancy of Portage, MI; sons Jerry (Becky) Grajauskis of Sodus, MI and Joel Grajauskis of Sodus, MI; granddaughters Jenna & Krista Clancy; grandsons Jake & Tyler Grajauskis. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Joseph.
