Lucy's Obituary

Lucy Ruth Biastock, of St. Joseph, was born November 14, 1930 and passed away on July 1, 2012, at her home. Lucy was born and raised in Benton Harbor Michigan, to Marian and Bert Ghidotti. She attended and graduated from St. Johns High School in 1949. Lucy married Robert Louis Biastock, Sr., on April 29, 1950. Lucy and Bob enjoyed 25 years of marriage together and had nine children. Together they owned Bywaters Grocery Store in Benton Harbor. After Bob’s death in 1975, she sold the store and went to work for Whirlpool Corp. from which she retired. During her retirement she worked at the Point O’ Woods and Salon Salon & Day Spa. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and American Legion of Stevensville. Lucy loved sailing, traveling, cooking, and gaming entertainment. Lucy is survived by eight children: Robert Louis Jr. of Three Oaks, MI, Deborra (Dave) McClanahan of Indiana, Marian (Jeff) Rosko of St. Joseph, Susan (Chris) Barkley of New Carlisle, IN, Patricia (Patrick) Clark of St. Joseph, Dorothy (Howard III) Yeager of Benton Harbor, Cynthia Biastock of St. Joseph, and Angela (Scott) Baiers of St. Joseph. She is also survived by her brother Bert (Linda) Bangor, nineteen grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceding in her death are her parents, husband Robert, brother Joseph, and son Gustav Biastock. Visitation will be held at Starks and Menchinger Chapel on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.on Saturday, July 7, 2012. Memorial donations in honor of Lucy can be made to SS John and Bernard Parish.
