Joe was born April 28, 1949 in Benton Harbor to Joseph and Rosalie (Costanza) Lomonaco, Sr. He graduated from St. John’s Catholic School in 1967. He proudly served his country in the Army and the Reserves. He married the love of his life, Deborah Miller on May 10, 1969 and they shared a beautiful life together until her death in March of 2003. Together they created a legacy of love.
Joe was a business owner in the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor area for over 20 years. He was the owner of Lomonaco’s Meat Market and Grocery store where he enjoyed not only the people that he worked with but also the relationships he built with his customers. Most recently he was a truck driver employed by Master Transfer in Minnesota.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. There was not a better father or grandfather. Joe’s strong faith sustained him through many hardships in his life and served as a great example to those around him.
He lived a life filled with honesty, integrity and faith. He lived well, laughed often, and loved much. He is deeply missed.
He is survived by his children, Amy (Pete) Bercich of Lakeville, MN, Rebecca Lomonaco of Battle Creek, MI, and Joseph (Stephanie) Lomonaco of Oconomowoc, WI; his siblings, Roseanne Hoven, Jerry Lomonaco, Frances Lomonaco, Anthony Lomonaco, Kenneth Lomonaco, Michael Lomonaco, and Carol Lomonaco; and seven grandchildren, Pete, Abbi, Ryan, Emily, Noah, Dylan and Sofia.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Deb; mother, Rosalie; father, Joseph and grandson, Samuel.
