Gerald ‘Jerry’ Ritter, 62, of Benton Harbor, MI died on Saturday, April 28, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home of St. Joseph. Jerry was born on Nov. 1, 1949 in St. Joseph, MI to Ewalt and Ruth (Gullekson) Ritter. He was a self-employed carpet installer. Jerry loved working on cars and antique clocks; he was an avid NASCAR fan; and also restored Wheel Horse riding mowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association. Jerry is survived by his two daughters, Christine (Eric) Boyajian and Kari Nichols, both of Coloma, MI; the mother of his children, Gisela Ritter of St. Joseph; two grandchildren, Emily and Brandon Nichols; three sisters, Connie (Harris) Johnson of Carrollton, GA, Jeannie Kempton of Stevensville, MI, and Linda (Tom) Sieber of Bangor, MI; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, May 4, 1:00 PM, with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Visitation will preceded the service from 12noon-1:00PM. Final resting place is at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI.
