Shirley's Obituary
Shirley Ann Teed, 81, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
A Memorial Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at St. John Catholic Church, 600 Columbus, Benton Harbor, with the Very Rev. William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at North Shore Memory Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service. Shirley was born in Benton Harbor on November 25, 1930, to Harold and Ruby (Bowers) Gregg. She married Thomas Teed in Benton Harbor. Shirley retired as a secretary from the Vocational Education Center for the Benton Harbor area schools in 1991 after 22 years. She was a lifetime member of the NEA. She and her husband enjoyed staying in Sandy Pines, MI in the summers and Florida in the winters. They were avid motorcyclists and enjoyed bowling and golfing together. In Florida Shirley volunteered for the Iron Man Triathalons and at Florida Community College. She especially loved watching Wheel of Fortune.
Shirley is survived by sons Michael (Sherrie) Teed, Watervliet, Thomas (Loraine) Teed, Watervliet, Patrick (Melissa) Teed, Berrien Springs; daughters Michelle (Steve) Zanders, Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen Vafadari, Holland; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Norma Gillespie, Kissimmee, FL, Donnalee (Dee) Jackson, Berrien Springs, and Yvonne (Bruce) Dustin, Eau Claire.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Thomas of 61 years and two sisters Billie Miller and Rose Krueger.
