Clarence Daniel Beshires, 67, of Benton Harbor, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration Of Life Visitation will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. The visitation will close with words of comfort from Rev. Marlo O. Fritzke of the First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the church. Mr. Beshires was born September 6, 1944 in Boulevard, TN to Morris and Laura Angeline (Daniels) Beshires. Clarence was retired in 2005 from Contec Corp. in Dowagiac, MI. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post #105 & V.F.W. Post # 1137 both of Benton Harbor. He enjoyed socializing with friends, earlier in life, boating and golfing were his hobbies, but he loved raising and caring for his many cats over the years. On August 26, 1989 in Benton Harbor, he married the love of his life, Kathy A. (Gourdeau) Beshires, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Maryanna “Cookie” Hart, Rosemary “Sissy” (Jaron) Burton, and Daniel Edwin (Tabitha) Beshires all of Benton Harbor, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Charles Lary Beshires of Benton Harbor, a loving mother-in-law, Natalia Gourdeau. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and eight brothers.
