Loren's Obituary

Loren Delbert Fisher, 89 of Benton Harbor, Michigan passed away Thursday April 19, 2012 surrounded by his family. Loren was born July 30, 1922 in Gid Arkansas to Louis Harvey and Una (Shaver) Fisher. He was the youngest of 4 children. Loren retired from Industrial Rubber in 1984 after 38 years of service. Loren served his country in the Army for 3 years. Participating in World War II, for which he received 3 bronze stars. Loren married the love of his life Imogene (Anderson) Fisher on August 28, 1943 and shared 68 wonderful years together. They had three beautiful children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Loren faithfully attended The First Church of the Nazarene in Saint Joseph, MI. He loved to travel to Arkansas to visit his family and friends, hunting, and baseball. Loren was a very hard working man who was very loving and caring. Loren is survived by his loving wife; Imogene (Anderson) Fisher, two daughters; Debra (Jimmie) Kent of Bangor, MI and Lorna Pullen of Windsor, CO., a son D. Allen (Robin) Fisher of Niles, MI. Four grandsons; Rob (Jamie) Fisher of Plainwell, MI, Derrick(Monica) Fisher of Watevliet, MI, Chris(Tia)Fisher of Saint Joseph, MI and Alex Pullen of Fort Collins, CO. Two granddaughters; Samantha Pullen of Greeley, CO and Brandy Karsen of Niles, MI. Two sister- in- laws Maxine McFarland of Hartford, MI and Sandra Anderson of Grand Rapids, MI. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Loren was preceded in death by his parents; Louis Harvey and Una Fisher, two brothers; Lawrence Herbert and Cleo Adam Fisher, and a sister Eva(Fisher) Smith. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Raquel Dotson, grandson Eric Dotson, brother- in- laws; Rev. Kenneth Anderson and Arthur McFarland, and sister-in-law Ester Fisher. A celebration of life will be held on Monday April 23, 2012 at 10 am at The First Church of the Nazarene in Saint Joseph, MI. Burial will follow at Keeler Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday April 22, 2012 from 2-4 at Starks and Menchinger funeral home in Saint Joseph, MI.
