Don G. Rupley

Don G. Rupley passed away on March 22, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born on July 21, 1928 to Landis Rupley and Gladys Hewitt. He was an extraordinary man who had many talents. He was an inventor, an engineer, and a successful businessman while working at Heath/Zenith. He then branched out on his own to start Heald, Inc. where he was successful for 20 years. He was an avid golfer and traveler. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sporting events. He was a computer geek and enjoyed nothing more than learning something new. His favorite place to go was his home on the island of Nevis in the West Indies. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his sister Rita Tibbs, son Don Rupley and grandson Christopher Rupley. He is survived by his adoring wife, Jinney Rupley. His daughters Dian Shields, Linda Smith, and Jill Ellerton. His sons Dale and Todd Rupley. His grandchildren Aaron Smith, Emily Yeske, Jennifer Rowland, Joshua Rupley, Benjamin and Carter Rupley, and Ryan Ellerton and five great grandchildren. Also a very special Nevitian family called the Jones family and his adopted Nevitain son Urban Jones. He will be sorely missed. Visitation will be held at Starks Menchinger Funeral Home in St. Joseph, Michigan on Tuesday, March 27th from 4-7pm.
