Edna C. Porter

Edna C. Porter, 99, of Benton Harbor, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 902 Broad St., St. Joseph with Pastor Marlo Fritzke officiating. Burial will follow at Watervliet Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Billy Graham Association. She married John Porter in Gibson County, Tennessee. Edna worked for and Industrial Rubber Company for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved the Lord Jesus and his creation and creatures. She loved people especially her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, music, cowboy movies, dancing, her dogs and trying new things. Edna is survived by her daughters Edna Sue Vogt of White Bear, Minnesota and Fran Porter of Phoenix, Arizona; 9 grandchildren Sheryl (Paul) Iekel, Iowa, Nancy Vogt, Minnesota, Cathy (Duff) Hanson, Michigan, Chris (Wilma) Porter, Nevada, Tracy (Chris) Zenardo, Arizona, John (Tamara) Porter, Arizona, Tom (Tammy) Porter, Virginia, Shawn (Diane) Porter, Arizona and Michael (Claudia) Porter, Arizona; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Wendell Porter, sister Goldie Hawthorne and brother Cecil Bolin.
