Mark A. McDaniel

Mark A. McDaniel, 55, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Thursday, March 9, 2012 at his home. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. On December 29, 1995, Mark married Jane Woltman in St. Joseph. He was formerly employed at Gary Roofing, Resistance Welding, & Leco Corp. all in St. Joseph. He was best known for his work as a short order cook, beginning at the former Big Boy Restaurant in Benton Harbor, the Orchards Lounge, and most recently at Louie’s Sports Bar. Mark was a fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions & Red Wings, and also of NASCAR, rooting for Mark Martin, his favorite driver. Mark is survived by his mother Betty Harbison of Bono, Arkansas; his wife Jane; his daughter & her fiancé Elizabeth Blaylock & George Dunn, Jr. of Benton Harbor; three grandchildren-Autumn May Beilman, Michael Henry Beilman & Eternity Mashay Blaylock; siblings-Teresa (Mike) Mosely of Bono, Arkansas, Connie Bourisaw & Dewayne Harbison, both of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Kay Guess of Cheybogan, MI, Darrell (Gaylene Reybuck) Harbison of Benton Harbor, James (Barb) Harbison of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces & nephews; his mother-in-law Carol Bond of Bridgman; brothers-in-law-Tom (Jackie) Woltman of Benton Harbor, Chuck (Janet) Woltman of Niles, MI; and a special friend Dave Nelson of Benton Harbor. Mark was preceded in death by his father Marvin McDaniel & his step father Thurman Harbison.
