Norine's Obituary
Norine Cecilia Radde, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, April 01, 2012 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman. She walked through the gates of heaven on Palm Sunday rejoicing in the Lord.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market Street, St. Joseph, officiated by Pastor Thomas Batsky. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Norine was born on December 18, 1918 to Albert and Anna (Swikoski) Berndt in St. Joseph. After graduating from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1936, Norine worked at Cooper Wells where she met her future husband. On September 24, 1938, she married Edward E. Radde, at Trinity Lutheran Church, who preceded her in death in 1996. Norine worked for the Berrien County Probate Court as an Assistant Court Administrator; she retired in 1982.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Barbara) Radde of Huntsville, AL, Marilyn (Charles) O’Dell-Groat of Hanson, KY, Charles (Lauren) Radde of Grand Rapids, MI, Donald (Janet) Radde of Benton Harbor, MI ; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth (Sparks) Ford, Christopher Radde, Rebecca Odell, Matthew (Courtney) Radde, Andrew Radde, Tyler Radde, Patrick Radde, Chris Radde, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marcella Weber of St. Joseph.
Norine was preceded by her parents; her husband, Edward, brother Edward Berndt and sister Alice Gartner. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Norine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
