Veronica's Obituary

Veronica Loris Wilson, 82, of Coloma, MI passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Starks-Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI. The service will be officiated by the Elks Lodge #541, St Joseph & Benton Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Lodge #541. Those wishing to share a memory of Veronica may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Veronica was born April 16, 1929 in Watervliet, MI, to Paul & Marguriet (Selters) Richter. On May 29, 1946 in South Bend, IN, she married Ladd R. “Bud Burr” Wilson who survives. Their marriage celebration was shared with the community, as a Memorial Day Parade was taking place too. She is also survived by her daughter, Lolita L. “Lolly” (Carl) Brasier of Coloma, granddaughter, Wendi C. (Brian) Stevens of Coloma, great-grandchildren, Samantha A. (Camden) Henderson and Brian D. Stevens II of Benton Harbor, great-great grandson Gavin D. Henderson. Gavin held a very special place in her heart being her first great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Larry L. Richter of Florida. Veronica retired as a self-employed realtor, working with the Tala Real Estate service in Coloma. She also helped start the first “home show” for local realtors. Veronica was also formerly employed at the Whitcomb Towers and the Watervliet Paper Co. She was a member of the Michigan Realtor Assoc., the Professional Women’s Club, and volunteered at the former Memorial Hospital. Her and her husband were members of the Elks Lodge #541 and the D.A.N.K. Veronica is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bruce Wayne Wilson.
