Melba Lange

Melba Lange, 55, of Benton Harbor passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lange family. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1974. On December 1, 1979 she married Mark Lange in St. Joseph he preceded her in death on June 12, 2006. Melba was a loving mother who cherished her daughters dearly. She enjoyed being part of her daughter’s sporting events and traveling teams. Melba is survived by her children Kelly Lange of Benton Harbor, Teri Lange of Benton Harbor and Molly Lange of Benton Harbor; father Austin McCarver; sisters Dorothy (Bruce) George of Ohio; Barbara McCarver of Berrien Springs, Cheryl Russell of Benton Harbor and Linda Carpenter of Benton Harbor; brother Austin McCarver of Benton Harbor. Melba was preceded in death by her husband Mark Lange and mother Annabelle McCarver.
