Adeline Lillian Berk

Adeline Lillian Berk, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Road, Stevensville, MI, with Rev. Phillip G. Quardokus officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Adeline was born December 21, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Edmund and Martha (Froehlich) Zittner. On November 22, 1952, she married Charles W. Berk, who survives. Adeline formerly worked at Mr. Smorgasbord and was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stevensville. She enjoyed rock cutting and creating rock art with a special saw made by her husband. Adeline is survived by her husband, her daughter Kathleen (Robert) Ross of Benton Harbor, a granddaughter, Karri Kelm of New Orleans, LA, siblings, Ed Steltner of Elkhart, IN, Ruth Pethick of St. Joseph, Christel (Ronald) Schalon of Watervliet, Laura Jean Mead of Benton Harbor, nieces & nephews, and a special niece, Tiffany (Benjamin) Graves. Adeline is preceded in death by her parents.
