Virginia's Obituary

Virginia A. Kole, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 24 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call beginning at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to sign Virginia’s Memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Virginia was born March 13, 1935 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to John & Dehlia (Schnyders) Prince. She graduated as Valedictorian from Colton High School in Colton, SD in 1952. On February 25, 1953, she married Ronald Kole in Holland, Michigan, and earned her LPN Degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids. Virginia was employed as a waitress at Holly’s Landing in St. Joseph, retiring after twenty–plus years of service. Virginia enjoyed cross-stitching and tending to her flower gardens, and was an avid Chicago Bulls fan. She loved to cook and bake, and cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her children-Kevin (Cindy) Kole of Vicksburg, MI, Shawn (Sue) Kole of St. Joseph, Kerry (Erin) Kole & Kendra Kole, both of Rochester, MI; six grandchildren-Marcus, Mitchell, Alexandria, Jonathan, Kasey & Paige Kole; two sisters-Pat (Jim) Spoor of Holland, Verona (Vern) Mills of Margate, FL; sister-in-law Pat Prince of Holland; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald on May 1, 2010, her son Ronnie Kole on December 17, 2008, and her brother Roy Prince in 2008.
