Grace Hutchinson

Grace Hutchinson, 90, of Stevensville, formerly of Benton Harbor, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 17, 2012, at Crown Point Senior Living Community in Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor, with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Grace was born February 13, 1922 in Gasport, New York to Levi & Edna (Schrock) Detwiler. On February 2, 1946, she married Carlton C. Hutchinson in Clarence Center, NY. The family moved to Benton Harbor in 1969 from Ohio. Grace was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading her bible, walking at the Orchards Mall, knitting, crocheting, refinishing furniture, word puzzles & table games. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family. Grace is survived by her husband Carlton; her children-Cheryl (Ron) Perrine of Richland, MI, Durward Hutchinson of Monroe, MI, Jay (Marla) Hutchinson of St. Joseph, Linda Bailey of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her sister Ruth Conrad of Portsmouth, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters-Mary Frey & Dorothy Morgan, and two brothers-Lee & John Detwiler.
