Michael's Obituary
Michael Lee Denton, 55, of St. Joseph, passed away, November 2, 2011 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 7, 2011 at Stark & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Dr. J. O. Hosler officiating. A private burial will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service or Battle Creek Veterans Affairs. Those wishing to share a memory of Michael may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Michael was born March 3, 1956 in Benton Harbor to Lloyd & Shima (Furukawa) Denton. He served in the United States Marines from 1975 to 1986 and became a skilled Marksman. Michael was a member of the American Legion in Benton Harbor and loved to hunt and fish.
Michael is survived by his daughters Kiesha Denton (Matthew Kihlstrand boyfriend) of St. Joseph and Kristina (Aaron) Soule of St. Joseph; mother Shima (step father Paul) Bettig of St. Joseph; grandchildren Alana, Lily, Mason; brother Clyde (Sandy) Denton of Pittsburgh; sister; Katherine (Robert) Burger of Savanna, GA.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Denton, brother Frank Denton and dog Tito.
