John Tosh McLelland, M.D., 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his home. A Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2011 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. He served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1954 John married Janet Sharpe in Flint, Michigan. He received his doctorate from Wayne State University and completed his internship in Flint, Michigan. John was a Doctor of Radiology, retiring in 1991 from Radiology Associates of Berrien County. He was Chief of Staff during the Mercy Memorial and Lakeland Regional Medical Center merge. John is survived by his wife Janet; two sons, John (Sue) McLelland, Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI and Chad (Rosann) McLelland of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Marnie (John) Kotwick of Grand Rapids, MI and Nan (Jim) Wilberding of Troy, MI; and fourteen wonderful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Carla McLelland on May 23, 1977, and a sister, Nan Renick.
