Pamela Peterson

Pamela J. Peterson, 55, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Peterson family. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Pam was born on July 31, 1956 in Benton Harbor to John and Mary Jean (Phillips) Sturtevant. She attended Benton Harbor High School and worked as a Customer Service Manager at Wal-Mart. Pam loved her flowers, especially her rose bushes. Pam also helped do paper work, get water and will be loved and missed by all the firefighters at St. Joseph Charter Township Fire Department Station #1. She was also a Senior Regent for the Women of The Moose Chapter 405 and received her A of F and loved to bowl on the Mixed Up Moose League. Pam is survived by her loving husband David; daughter April Burgess of Berrien Springs; son John (Amy) Burgess of Berrien Springs; mother Mary “Jean” Sturtevant of Florida; granddaughter Kristal Burgess of Stevensville; sisters Brenda (Norman) Palmateer of TX, Nancy (Doug) McGinnis of TX and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Pam was preceded in death by her father John Sturtevent; and first husband Stephen Burgess.
