Dusty Lee Pendergrass

Dusty Lee Pendergrass, 29, of South Bend, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 05, 2011 at IU Health Goshen Hospital in Goshen, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Educational Fund. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2000 and from Indiana University with an Associate’s Degree. For the last nine years, Dusty was employed as an electrician with IBEW Local #153 in South Bend. On April 13, 2010 he married the former Samantha Ferrer in South Bend. Dusty enjoyed Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Notre Dame sports. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his children. Dusty is survived by his wife Samantha; his children Alexis LeeAnn and Bryce Lee Pendergrass; his parents Tracy Pendergrass of St. Joseph, Daryl & Tina Pendergrass of Niles; his siblings-Jay Pendergrass of St. Joseph, Ashley Inbordino & Stephen Imbordino, both of Benton Harbor; his grandparents-Beatrice Beckman of St. Joseph, Wes & Judy Pendergrass of Noblesville, IN, Virgie Sutherland of Stevensville; his mother-in-law Theresa (David) Lake of Benton Harbor; his father-in-law Al Ferrer of Louisville, KY; his brother-in-law Victor Ferrer of Louisville, KY; and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. Dusty was preceded in death by his grandfathers-Fred Beckman and Steve Sutherland.
