Betty Jane Rosenthal

Betty Jane Rosenthal, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in Berrien Center. A Memorial Gathering will be held 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Stevensville American Legion, 3127 Johnson Rd., Stevensville. Burial will be held at a later date at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Betty was born January 19, 1922 in Manistee Township to Carl & Ruby (Gilson) Bringleson. She married Henry Rosenthal, who preceded her in death in 1981. Betty worked as a secretary for Riverwood, Emlongs, and Universal Looseleaf. She was a member and volunteer at Peace Lutheran Church and was also a member of the Stevensville American Legion. Betty was an avid bowler and a member of Southwestern Women’s Michigan Bowling Congress. Betty is survived by her son Roger (Jennifer) Rosenthal of Stevensville; granddaughter Laura Rosenthal of St. Joseph; grandson Hank Oehlberg of Bridgman and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Carl Bringleson Jr. and sister Alice Baumgartner.
