Alfred Goettler

Alfred F. Goettler – March 13, 1915 – September 29, 2011 Alfred (Al) Goettler, 96, died Thursday September 29, 2011 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking long walks. He was his grandchildrens biggest fan at all their activities and sporting events and would never miss the chance to cheer them all on. Al was born on March 13th 1915 in Chicago, Ill to Ernest and Ethel (Dodge) Goettler. On March 30th 1940 he married the love of his life Margaret (Peggy) Anderson in Davenport Iowa. They spent 67 wonderful years together until Margarets death February 6, 2006. He retired from the Hearld Palladuim in 1978. He is survived by two daughters Gayle (Bill) Ziebarth of Stevensville, Barb (Bill) Hannah of Bridgman; a son Tom (Sherry) Goettler of Brookpark, MN; five grandchildren (who knew him as Bandi), Todd Ziebarth, Scott Ziebarth, Lisa Kiewel, Nicole Andris, and Ben Goettler, and seven great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home
