Dennis F. Stacey

Dennis F. Stacey, 61, of Berrien Springs, passed away, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at The Chapel-An Evangelical Free Church, 4250 Washington Ave., St. Joseph with Rev. Philip Bubar officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 1968, and from Western Michigan University in 1973. On July 10, 1971, he married the former Cheryl Christy in Berrien Springs. Since 1995, Dennis owned & operated Our Gardener, a landscaping service. Dennis was a member of The Chapel, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and assisted with landscaping projects. An avid reader and musician, he maintained an extensive library to share with others, sang in various choirs and played tuba in a brass quintet. Active outdoors, he created beautiful gardens, played tennis and golf and enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Dennis is survived by his wife Cheryl; his son Joel (Abby) Stacey of Indianapolis; his daughter Bethany Stacey of Fishers, IN; two granddaughters-Reagan & Tatum Stacey; his father Lad Stacey of Berrien Springs; two brothers-Craig (Rose) Stacey of Boston, MA, Bradley (Diana) Stacey of Missoula, MT; two sisters-Joan (Kim) Moyer of Buchanan, Susan (David) Pagel of Berrien Springs; his mother-in-law Marvel A. Christy of St. Joseph; and numerous nieces, nephews & friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley in August 1994.
