Ruth Hanson

Ruth Hanson, 87, of Stevensville, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Gail Holman officiating. A private burial will be held at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation. On January 12, 1952 she married Johan Hanson in Mt. Pleasant. Ruth worked for a variety of businesses including Leco and Heath Company. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ruth is survived by her daughter Joanne Christine “Tina” Anderson of Stevensville; son David (Marie) Hanson of Benton Harbor; 6 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three brothers Samuel (Peggy) Diener of Arizona, Edwin (Mary) Diener of St. Joseph, Thomas (Ellen) Diener of Berrien Springs; sister Betty Saenz of South Bend; Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son John Hanson and brothers Carl and John “Henry” Diener.
