Elaine K. Koehler

Elaine K. Koehler, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at Lakeland Continuing Care in Berrien Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service or the Humane Society of S.W. Michigan. On April 29, 1950 she married Robert Koehler in Baroda. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post 568 where she was past president of Women’s Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, cooking and watching cooking shows, reading, crocheting and spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elaine is survived by her daughters Cindy (Steve) Brink of St. Joseph, Sheri Falcone (Lance Jeffries) of Benton Harbor and Patty Monte (Kevin Birdsall) of Benton Harbor; four grandchildren Jason, Angie, Craig, Keith; five great grandchildren Raven, Riley, Noah, Jackie, and Ali; brother Walter (Betty) Lausman of Lady Lake, FL; sisters Lorraine (Donald) Shafer of St. Joseph and Darlene Pullen of Benton Harbor. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Kathryn Koehler, son Michael Koehler, son-in-law Del Monte and brother Laverne Selent.
