Allen Henry Cable

Allen Henry Cable, 80, of Sodus, passed away at Lakeland Regional Medical Center on Monday, September 19, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 23, 2011 at Oronoko United Methodist Church, Little Glendora Rd., Buchanan officiated by Rev. Jane Logston with burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery on Snow Rd. in Oronoko Township. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Allen was born to Burton and Henrietta (Antes) Cable on November 29, 1930 in Berrien Springs. He graduated from Berrien Springs High School and served his entire career with the Army and Army Reserves then went on to retire from the Civil Service. On July 20, 1970 Allen married Joyce Campbell at Oronoko United Methodist Church. Allen enjoyed traveling, camping, having his family close by and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Allen is survived by his wife Joyce; sons, James (Donna) Davis of St. Joseph, Daniel (Shari) Davis of Sodus and David (Sherrie) Davis of Eau Claire; a daughter Darlene (Jason) King of Decatur, AL; a sister Mary (Ed) Schadler of Niles; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
