Nancy Coady

Nancy Coady, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday July 8, 2011 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 914 Lane Dr., St. Joseph with Mother Pamela Sten officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. She retired from Emlongs Nursery after many years. Nancy was highly knowledgeable about gardening and willing to share her wisdom with everyone. Her gardens brought her much peace and joy. She married Phillip Reed in 1954 and later married Doug Coady in 1983. Nancy was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy. In her spare time she enjoyed painting and attended classes at the Art Institute of Chicago. She was a highly skilled seamstress and loved spending time with her family. Nancy is survived by her niece Penny Reed; nephews Michael Reed, Richard Reed, Christopher Reed, Todd Paul and Robin Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Phillip G. Reed and Doug Coady and three sons Keith, Scott, and Ian Reed.
