Gerald “Jerry” F. Fasbender, 60, of St. Joseph went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at The Chapel, 4250 Washington Ave., St. Joseph with pastor Philip Bubar officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Jerry was born December 2, 1950 in Edinburg, TX. to Edward & Genevieve (Schimmel) Fasbender. On January 16, 1975 he married Carol Longoria in Oscoda, MI. Jerry worked for Printek in Benton Harbor for many years. Jerry loved to entertain people by playing his guitar and by making people laugh. He brought joy and happiness to everyone he met and loved to share the word of God. Jerry was a loving husband of 36 years, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Jerry was survived by his wife Carol Fasbender of St. Joseph; sons Jamie (Rachel) Fasbender of Byron Center and Travis Fasbender of Benton Harbor; granddaughter Ava Fasbender; siblings Edward (Joan) Fasbender, Marianne (John) Prievity, David (Margie) Fasbender, Ginny Sullivan, Evelyn Fasbender, Shelby (Stuart) Covey, and Diane (Ron) Shattuck; and many nieces and nephews.
