Helchy Elizabeth “Pat” Kelly, 85, of Stevensville, passed away on August 1, 2011 at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, a cremation burial has taken place according to Pat's wishes. Visitation will take place from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., Tuesday just prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Hospice or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Pat was born January 20, 1926, in Benton Harbor, MI to Tyman and Goldie (Johnson) Price. She married Lester Rex Kelly on May 22, 1943 in Benton Harbor. Pat loved to crochet, read, and do word search puzzles. She worked with her husband in new construction for many years before they retired in 1982. Pat is survived by her two sons: Tom (Sheila) Kelly, with whom she lived, and Jerry (Carole) Kelly, of Stevensville, grandchildren: Shelly Elizabeth, Cindy (Jerry) Link, Christopher and Jennifer Kelly of Stevensville, and Tom Kelly II, of Washington D.C.; brothers: Harold “Red” (Lee) Price of North Carolina, and James (Mary) Price of Coloma; many nieces, nephews and best friend Sophie. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Kelly in 1992; one brother and three sisters.
