Brian Lee Pliley

Brian Pliley, 49, of Benton Harbor, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., with Pastor Franz Brandenburg officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Church. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center. Those wishing to share a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Brian was born November 3, 1961 in St. Joseph, MI., to Jerry & Barbara (Bradford) Pliley. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1979. On May 12, 1990 he married Pamela Smith in Stevensville, MI. Brian worked for the Lincoln Township Police Department as a Volunteer Police Officer for ten years. In his spare time he enjoyed racing cars, hunting, and spending time with his dogs Ruger, Torco and cat Miles. Brian is survived by his wife Pamela Pliley of Benton Harbor; father and step-mother Jerry & Kathryn Pliley of St. Joseph; sister Kim (George) Smith of Watervliet; brother Brad (Tammy) Pliley of Bridgman; nieces and nephews Maegan, April, Andrew, and Ashley; life-long friend Doug Klug. Brian was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Pliley and sister Brenda Hamm.
