Bill Mihlhauser

Bill Mihlhauser, 81 of Benton Harbor, passed away, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. Memorial Services celebrating his life will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph with Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Memorials may be made to ASPCA or the Humane Society of SW Michigan. Those wishing to sign Bill's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Bill was born March 30, 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas to Frank & Beulah (Gray) Mihlhauser. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. On October 26, 1969, he married the former Betty Jane Nelson in Lake Michigan Beach. He retired in 2000 after many years as a truck driver for Blossomland Containers in Benton Harbor. In his free time, Bill enjoyed the out-of-doors-hunting, fishing & golfing; bowling & spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife Betty Jane; his children-Dale (Kerry) Mihlhauser & Debra Mihlhauser, both of St. Joseph, Marina (Mark) McCoy of Watervliet, Art (Linda) Fulton of North Port, FL; six grandchildren-Mark (Laura) McCoy, Jr., Nicholas McCoy, Shauna Smith, Krista Blaylock, Tami (Todd) Schacknies, Todd (Theresa) Bohley; and six great-grandchildren-Fiona McCoy, Whitney, Kayla & Trevor Schacknies, Corey & Dylan Bohley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vera, and his son Mark Mihlhauser in 2001.
