Betty J. Anthony, 88, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Stevensville, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville with Rev. Phillip Quardokus officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. July 27, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church or The Humane Society of S.W. Michigan. Those wishing to leave a memory online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Betty was born on February 19, 1923, in Terra Haute, IN to Clifford Houser and Alvena (Martin) Houser-Yenart. Betty worked as a Nurse's Aide at Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. In her spare time Betty loved nature, bird watching, and her canine companion Max. She was a loving mother, and cherished time spent with her family.
Betty is survived by her son Bob (Juanita) Ehrhardt of St. Joseph; daughter Diana (Dallas) Wiley of Albuquerque, NM; son Douglas (Cheryl) Anthony of St. Joseph; daughter Sally Ehrhardt of Baroda; and daughter Sherry (Brad) Johnson of Berrien Springs; sister Maxine Mock of Berrien Springs; grandchildren Michael Ehrhardt, Robert Ehrhardt, Anna Silcox (Scott), Kaila Ehrhardt, Dawn Ives (Tim), Scott Wiley, Rachel Arndt (John), Rebecca Pranger (Matt), Andy Loveland (Amber), Michelle Boogaart (Jeremy), Ben Johnson, Bethany Johnson; great grandchildren Kristine (Jerrye), Dalton, Will, Kale, Phineas, William, Hunter, Nathaniel, Grace, Josiah, Sierra, Christian, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Riley, and Zoe; great great grandchildren Adevanie and Traven. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Berdine “Bud†Houser, and Richard Houser; and three grandson's Brian Loveland, Paul Ehrhardt, and Matthew Ehrhardt.
