Diane's Obituary
Diane Lynn Wegner was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2011. She ended her brave battle with cancer July 17, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at her Stevensville MI home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 21, at 10 AM at the Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, St Joseph, MI. Burial will immediately follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Cleveland Ave., Stevensville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20th from 5 to 8 PM at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service, 7301 Red Arrow Highway, Stevensville, MI 49127; Lakeland Hospice @ Lakeland Healthcare, 1234 Napier Ave., St. Joseph, MI 49085; or Highland Park Inc. Diane was born to Wilson and Eleanor (Peck) Atkins on June 17, 1944, in Madison, Wisconsin. She graduated from Oregon High School in Wisconsin. She married her husband, Keith, on August 24, 1963.
For the last thirty-seven years Diane resided in Stevensville, Michigan. She spent her time raising her family, working in the family bicycle store (Wegner's Schwinn), and enjoying sports like bowling, bicycling and golfing. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Over the last decade, many supportive friendships were developed wintering in Delray Beach Florida. She enjoyed visits from family, making many new friends, playing cards, trips to Vegas, Caribbean cruises and playing Bingo every chance she got!
Diane is survived by her husband of 47 years, Keith; daughter, Shelle (Richard) Dragomer of Stevensville; son, Troy (Jennifer) Wegner of Chicago; her grandchildren, Amber Dragomer of Kalamazoo; Tyler & Travis Dragomer of Stevensville; Carson & Parker Wegner of Chicago and brother, Robert Atkins of Palm Springs, CA, plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her parents, a son, Todd; and a brother, Charles.
