Jack A. Fisher

Jack A. Fisher, Sr., 80, of Berrien Center, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away, Sunday, June 05, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Wayne Root officiating. Military Rites will follow at Riverview Cemetery Columbarium with the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Jack was born May 30, 1931 in Flint, Michigan to John & Henrietta (Rollins) Fisher. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed in Hawaii. On April 22, 1955, Jack married the former Nancy Esposito in Benton Harbor. Jack owned & operated Fisher Clock & Watch Repair on Colfax Ave, Benton Harbor for many years. More recently he served as a security officer with Dictograph & Seven Trees Security Companies. Jack enjoyed talking on his CB Radio. With the antenna on top of his two story house, he had friends far across the country. He also enjoyed tinkering, building or repairing anything electrical. Jack thoroughly enjoyed his time spent just last month at the Lest We Forget Korean War Tribute. Jack was very fond of his cats-Squeaky, Bubba & Buster. Jack is survived by his children-Jack (Deniece) Fisher, Jr. & Don (Lou) Fisher, both of St. Joseph, Sharon (Billy) Brenneman of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren-Christopher, Michael (Shanna), Brandon, Nick, Abbey, & Aleah Fisher, two great-grandchildren-Xavier & Ayden Fisher; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law and their families; a niece Tina Schaeffer of Stevensville that helped with his care; and his family of caregivers at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in Berrien Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy on June 25, 2002, and a sister Helen Wenger.
