Patricia A. Weaver, 58, of St. Joseph, passed away, Tuesday, April 5, 2011, after a long illness, surrounded by her loving husband, daughter, brother and his wife. A private Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at the St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Ct., St. Joseph with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Patty was born August 11, 1952 in Benton Harbor to Guy Robert & Marion Lucille (Post) VanderMeer. She spent her childhood & young adult years in Bridgman. She cherished the special support that she received from her mother and her grandfather & grandmother Post during these years, and enjoyed the time spent on her grandparent's farm. Patty graduated from Bridgman High School in 1970. She was employed at People State Bank where she worked for seven years. On October 29, 1977, she married Arnie Weaver. Patty loved life in Southwest Michigan and all it had to offer. She especially enjoyed the Blossomtime Festival, having attended the Blossom Parade nearly every year and was privileged to serve as parade chairman for two years. Patty was a member of the St. Joseph First United Methodist Church. Patty always had an uncanny ability to recall with vivid detail dates, events and activities from her life. Patty is survived by her beloved husband Arnie; her beloved daughter Joni Weaver of Stevensville; her loving brother Ronald (Karen) VanderMeer of St. Joseph; two sisters-in-law-Nonie (Larry) Dewell & Darlys (Everett) Sayles, both of Iowa; eleven nieces & nephews from both sides of the family-Susan, Jennifer, Jason, Randy, Rob, Rory, Reece, Vicki, Dawn, Monte, Shawna; three special friends that supported her through her time of illness-Bev Gould (Dave) of Benton Harbor, Debbie Mattson (Mike) & Fern Beaudette (Dick) both of St. Joseph; and her kitties-Annie & Maggie. Patty was preceded in death by her parents.
