Warren Rodgers

Warren “Corky” Rodgers, 66, of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 9:30 A.M. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville with Pastor Phillip Quardokus officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Warren was born May 19, 1944 in Chicago, IL to William & Mary (Wray) Rodgers. He graduated from New Troy High School in 1962. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 until 1966. Warren then attended Western Michigan University and graduated in 1972 with a bachelors in Business. On December 26, 1964 he married Barbara Glaske in Sawyer, MI. Corky had his own business W. Rodgers Construction & Hardwood Flooring from 1980 until the present. He was an active member of his church and was on the Royalton Township Planning Commission for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, movies, working on his computer, walking his dogs at Riverview Park and spending time with his family. Warren is survived by his wife Barbara Rodgers of St. Joseph; daughter Valerie (David) Watson of London Mills, IL; son Sean (Lori) Rodgers of Benton Harbor, MI; mother Mary Liskey; granddaughter Ada Rodgers; sisters Suzanne (Ron) Townsend of Branch, MI, Maryanne (William) Myers of San Antonio, TX, Anne (Stacy) Rodgers Hall of West Jordan, UT; Brother-in-law Eldon (Deloris) Glaske of Three Oaks, MI; sisters-in-law Vivian (Donald) Kesterke of St. Joseph, MI, Erma Chisholm of Fort Wayne, IN; many nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his father and grandson Daniel Rodgers.
