Sally's Obituary
Sally Davis Schnese, 80, of St. Joseph, God took Sally to his paradise on March 21, 2011, at Lakeland Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Alice McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sally Schnese Trust. Sally was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ned E. Davis on August 3, 1930 in Elkhart, Indiana. While attending Western Michigan University Sally met and married her college sweetheart, Frank Schnese on August 27, 1950. Sally and Frank are both alumni of Western Michigan University. Sally spent many years as a Special Education teacher for mentally handicap children, and then continued her teaching career at Brown School in St. Joseph teaching fourth graders. After suffering a debilitating illness Sally left her profession.
Sally was a lifetime member of Alpha Chi Omega, member of P.E.O., and Fairplain Presbyterian Church. She was actively involved in many area activities, including secretary of the St. Joseph Education Association and many committees concerning the education of our youth. Sally was always involved in activities for helping people. Her passions were her family, her husbands coaching, her gardening and anything creative.
She is survived by her husband Frank, sons Mark (Marcia) of Phoenix, Arizona and Kurt of Dallas, Texas, two grandsons, two great grandsons and many friends of long standing.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
