Doris Mae Amelung

Doris Mae (Hurd) Amelung, beloved wife of 57 1/2 years to Dean Amelung, went to be with our Lord on Sunday March 20, 2011. A Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd., Stevensville with Pastor Gordon Barry officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to Stevensville United Methodist Church. Along with her Husband, Dean she leaves to cherish her memory a son Dixon Amelung (Cookie); daughter Dale Janoski (David); 7 grandchildren; Stacey Amelung Bogden (Scott), Christopher Amelung (Dawn), Alison Janoski, Peter Janoski, Gail Ramos (Alex), Michael Cohen (Valenis), Brian Cohen (Rebecca); 6 great grandchildren; 5 siblings, Evelyn Ostberg, Ginny Green (Lou) Wallace Hurd, Jr. (Nancy), William Hurd & Ruth Hurd; a sister-in-law, Grace Evans, brother-in-law, Rick Spicer (Muriel) and many special nieces & nephews. Doris was gentle, caring, loving and always took care of others. She was soft spoken and never had a cross word or thought. Family was her joy. Dean, our Lord & family were the center of her life. She needed nothing else.
