Elsie's Obituary
Elsie Stroshein, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at her residence.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00a.m. Wednesday April 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph with Rev. Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 19, from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Elsie was born on June 1, 1916 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Edward Bandurski and Amelia (Baer) Bandurski. On November 29, 1935, she married Harvey Stroshein in Dowagiac. Elsie was formerly employed by Cooper Wells as a packer, and Barlow Laundry for 25 years, and Potlatch Forest Inc. of St. Joseph, and retired in 1978. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and supported Ladies Aide. Elsie was an excellent seamstress, loved flower and vegetable gardening; crafts and her pets
Elsie is survived a daughters Sharon Tescallo of Stevensville; one granddaughter Kim Tescallo (James Baney) of St, Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Stroshein on October 17, 1980, her daughters Sandra Stroshein and Barbara Stroshein, her sister Pauline Rock, brother Adolph Bandurski, sisters Martha Bishop, Erna Johns and brothers Arthur Bandurski, Bill Bandurski.
