Benjamin's Obituary

Benjamin “Tone” Mammina, 77, of Benton Harbor passed away at his home on Pipestone Road Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. Tone was born July 3, 1933, to John and Tillie (Varisco) Mammina. A life-long resident of Benton Harbor, he was a well-known photographer and operated Studiotone Portrait Studios in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph. Educated in Benton Harbor, he served many years on the Miss Blossomtime Pageant and was the official photographer for the The Blossomtime Festival. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Korean War. He is survived by two daughters, Viki Mammina of Nashville, TN, and Tracy Gasiewicz of Bloomfield, NJ, and by two sons, Drew and Mark Mammina, both of Benton Harbor, and five grandchildren-Lee, Andre, Tiana, Gray, & Sydney. He also leaves many other relatives, almost all of whom live in the Twin Cities area. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 7:00 P.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Fr. William J. Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call beginning at 6:00 P.M.
