Lorraine E. Harmon

Lorraine Harmon, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Orchard Grove Extended Care Center in Benton Harbor surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00A.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Harmon family for the purchase of a special gift for the staff at Orchard Grove. Those wishing to share a memory on line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Lorraine was born May 15, 1917 in St. Joseph, MI to Herman & Caroline (Schramm) Kaatz. On June 1, 1935 she married Leonard Harmon in South Bend. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, knitting and crocheting. Lorraine was survived by her daughter Susanne (Paul) Hall of St. Joseph; three grandchildren Karri Stine of Sodus, Melissa (Joshua) Blair of Watervliet and Brian Hall of St. Joseph; five great grandchildren Aaron, Tanner, Elissa, Zoe and Lilly; two sisters Agnes Lay of St. Joseph and Clara Neuman of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers Walter & Henry Kaatz.
