Phyllis's Obituary
Phyllis Joy R. Glines, 83, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away at Freedom Village in Holland, Michigan where she resided.
Phyllis was born July 28, 1927 in Three Oaks, MI to Clifford and Leah (Mayes) Reid. She graduated from Three Oaks High School in 1945. Phyllis graduated from Western Michigan College in 1949 and married Bill, her college sweetheart. Phyllis spent the majority of her teaching career with Coloma Public Schools where she taught Geography to 5th and 6th graders.
Phyllis lived for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived up to her middle name by bringing Joy to all those she encountered. Before moving to Holland, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of St. Joseph. Phyllis was involved in numerous groups and activities while at Freedom Village.
Phyllis is survived, daughter Melissa (Tom) Heller of Rapid City, MI, Son Michael Glines of Bethlehem, PA, and Son Marc (Brenda) Glines, Ennis, MT, and eight grand children. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Bill and parents Clifford and Leah Reid, and her brothers Clifford Reid Jr. and Glen Reid.
A Celebration of life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 on Friday, February 4th, in the Freedom Village Auditorium with Rev. Bill Brownson officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland. Those wishing to sign Phyllis's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
