Sharon's Obituary
Sharon A. (Schrubba) Lucker, 67 of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, surrounded by her family who loved her very much. She had a yearlong battle after being diagnosed with a brain tumor last January.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI., with Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral Home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Lakeland New Marie Yeager Cancer Center. Sharon was born on July 13, 1943 in Benton Harbor, MI to Gustave and Goldie (Heck) Schrubba. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School. On October 19, 1963, she married Tim Lucker in St. Joseph, MI. Sharon loved to read books, complete puzzles and word searches, and she loved to bake, people especially loved her chocolate cake. She worked at Schneck's Supermarket for over 20 years, and last worked at the Cracker Barrel as a cashier. Where ever she worked, she made many friends and touched many lives. Sharon loved her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Tim of St. Joseph; daughters, Elizabeth (Jeffery) Crouse of Stevensville and Jennifer (Bryan) Fillwock of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Gage Lucker and Sidney Fillwock ; sisters, Shirley (Boris) Paul of AZ, Elizabeth Groth of Stevensville and Janet (Lloyd) Wells of Benton -Harbor; father-in-law, Alan Lucker of St. Joseph, brother-in-laws; Dan (Pam) Lucker of Stevensville, Doug Lucker of St. Joseph and Jon (Lynn) Lucker of Decatur; and sister-in-law; Janet Schrubba of St. Joseph and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Goldie and her brother, Gus Schrubba.
