Hildegard E. Wolske

Hildegard E. Wolske, 86, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at St. Peter's United Church, 623 Church St. in St. Joseph with Rev. Gail Holman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Hildegard was born on February 17, 1924, in E. Prussia, Germany, to Rudolf and Emily (Hahn) Podzuweit. She married Alvin Wolske on October 20, 1950 in St. Joseph, MI. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2002. Hildegard loved gardening, sewing, knitting was active in the church choir, women's fellowship and taught Sunday school. Hildegard is survived by her sister, Ella Schulke of St. Joseph, son-in-law, Michael Jewell of Sodus, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Susan Jewell in 2008, and a brother Herbert Podzuweit.
