Garry Stevens

Garry Stevens, Sr., 70, of Stevensville, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at his home. A time of sharing will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00P.M. until 4:00P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held 11:00A.M. Monday at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Memorials may be made to the YMCA of St. Joseph or the Humane Society of S.W. Michigan. Those wishing to sign the memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Garry was born January 31, 1941 in Truman, AR. to Virgil & Jesse Marie (Watkins) Stevens. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. In the 1960's Garry was the youngest Master Electrician in the state of Michigan. Most of Garry's career was being a self-employed electrician, through that he made many friends. Garry was a man who loved life, had a sense of humor and a soft heart. He would do anything for anyone. Garry is survived by his daughter Theresa Woerdehoff of St. Joseph; son Garry Stevens Jr. of Ohio; two grandchildren Dana Bolinger and Gabriel Stevens; twin-brother Jerry (Florene) Stevens; sister Juanita (Wayne) Coleman; and his dog Cheyenne. Garry was preceded in death by his parents.
