Kenneth's Obituary

Kenneth E. Mock, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Mike Fields officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma with military rites. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the funeral home. Kenneth was born July 26, 1920 in Benton Harbor, MI to Willis & Lenora (Fields) Mock. He attended Benton Harbor High School. Kenneth served his country in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945. On April 9, 1949 he married Maxine Kirby in Benton Harbor. Kenneth worked for Harbor Metal Treating for thirty years. He was a member of the Benton Harbor VFW. Kenneth loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and living on the St. Joseph River in the house he built with his brothers and father-in-law. Kenneth is survived by his wife Maxine Mock of St. Joseph; two daughters Cheryl Thomas of Okemos, MI and Valeri Garland of Watervliet, MI; six grandchildren Lisa Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Zachary Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Jessica Garland, Kyle Garland; one great granddaughter Peyton Holden; sister-in-law Maxine V. Mock. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Wava Coupal, and Vivian Brown; three brothers Clifford Mock, Willis Mock, and Allan Mock.
